Bill...please take up golf.

Seriously. Why can't he just golf in his spare time like other billionaires do? Instead he comes up with stuff you'd expect to hear from a James Bond villain.

What? Do something on a global scale that has never been done before without any science saying it would help? What could go wrong?

The Will Smith zombie apocalypse movie "I am Legend" was preceded by people taking an untested vaccine to fight a pandemic.

Remember how in the funny books and corny movies the mad scientist villain was always some maladjusted nerd with a grudge because someone gave him a wedgie?

Critics and anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together. I'm sure the only people in favour are environmentalists

Relax folks, there will be a pilot study used as the basis for computer modeling which should tell us all we need to know, just like the computer models did for Covid 19!

Perhaps Bill Gates is a good example of why people need to be limited to the wealth they can create--he has more money than brains.

Sorry, that's not the answer. While true, he has more cash than brains, limiting the wealth a person can make will have much worse side effects for all.

In a sane economy, the microsoft business model would not have allowed him to generated as much wealth as was done. Could you imagine any other business model that would sell a product with as many issues as 'complete' and then promise to fix what is broken over the following years until they determine it is time for an upgrade to their newer equally broken version?

Believe me, I owned my own business so do I want to limit the income a person that takes all the risks? no.

But I know I paid my staff more than $15 per hour. Amazon (a couple of years ago--not sure where they stand now) apparently had many people on staff the qualified for food stamps because their wages were so low. It was not that Amazon did not have enough profits to pay a living wage. They have used the cheap labor market that is a result of so much illegal immigration.

Thanks for clarifying, and yes, this is a wide issue that doesn't really have a short one-liner answer.

The thing is when you are comparing amazon to microsoft in this way, it's actually fogging the issues which have crossover between the companies but are distinct in how they act generally, to their employers, and to their clientele.

I think government (once again) has failed in protecting the public because of a conflict of interests.

Someone give Bill Gates a copy of Highlights and maybe he can talk to Biden.

You want something to really blow your mind.... study conservation of energy in closed systems.

Hmm, it's almost like the plot of Highlander 2. Terrible movie, I'm guessing this could end poorly as well. On the bright side, we'd really have some man-made climate change to point at.
