Their argument is not without merit. Many (most?) illegal guns come from burglaries. Making guns illegal would definitely reduce their availability to law abiding citizens and lower that trickle-down effect.
The point they miss is that "the cat is out of the bag". Even if they banned all sales and production, criminals will have access to enough firearms and ammunition forever. There are hundreds of millions if not billions of guns floating around this country. "Turning off the faucet" at this point hurts law abiding citizens far more than criminals.
And don't forget, when you ban firearm sales, foreign bootleggers fill the gap, and they generally supply the faction of their choice...e.g : Muslim weapons for Muslims, ChiCom weapons for BLM/Antifa , so on so forth, and the Law abiding are ever more marginalized and defenseless...imo..🐸🇺🇸
they don't care; they blame legal gun owners for allowing guns to "trickle down"
ah yes, because you can't just literally print a gun today
a screw, a couple steel water pipes w/caps, a welder and a little time and I can make a shotgun......it aint hard.
