Maybe I haven't seen the info on how the last two mass shooters acquired the firearms. All I heard is that in both instances (Atlanta and Boulder) the firearms were purchased within the week prior.

don't think so. I don't think people even know what kind of weapon he used do they? I saw 1 or 2 places report AR15, saw 1 report AR15 "style", saw others report that they don't know.
I watched ABC's national evening news tonight just to hear their narrative so I could mess with a normie friend about it. Anyway, they reported that he had bought a Ruger 556 AR-15 (style)about a week ago which was after the ban was lifted by the judge? No info about where he purchased it and they couldn't confirm it was even used at the shooting. But hey, it's ABC so everything is taken with a grain of salt.
