It's virtually impossible to get away with murdering someone much less a police officer. You sentence yourself to death or life imprisonment if you engage law enforcement in a firefight. It is what it is

You must not be very bright. Anyone that knows the protocols and precautions that detectives and forensics take, can have a pretty high chance of getting away with it.

If you have no relation or immediate connection to a person or an obvious motive linking you, it's nearly impossible to get caught unless you fuck up and leave evidence that can identify you.

My point is you only have to fuck up once during the commission of a crime. A single fiber or shoe impression can lead law enforcement to you, meanwhile they have virtually infinite resources to track you down. I shouldn't have said "virtually impossible" since the clearance rate for murder is around 60-70% where I live, but basically you're giving yourself pretty bad odds, ESPECIALLY if that murder is of a police officer.

Lol, that's a terrible clearance rate, and you have to assume that at least 90% of those people have no idea what they're doing.

There are career criminals that have been doing it for decades and haven't been caught.

Yea, if you execute a cop in broad daylight in a public place, you're probably fucked lol.
