Yeah, Canadian here, having lived in both places, Americans never trash talked Canadians. Always spoke so glowingly. But Canadians like to trash Americans like they're better.

Most Canadians don't even realize we're a monarchy with a 90+ year old woman in England owning 89% of our land. The Governor General and PM need to basically be approved by England. Freedom of speech is long gone, we got no second amendment, and you can't even smoke on a patio anymore but yeah Canada is SO much better.

It sucks, I'm in Canada because I love my family and want to help protect them, but I would still feel way safer in the USA. Maybe we'll move down there one day.

Same in Australia re bashing Americans. We have been led to beleive, at least since the 70s, that Americans are somehow thick / all red-necks etc. This changed a lot once we all started interacting via the Internet, but people who grew up before that, especially boomers, have this ridiculous disparaging attitude towards Americans. It was probably some propaganda from the 60s.

Interesting to know that it was similar for you in Australia. One great point you make is the interacting via the internet, I never find too many good things to say about the Internet personally, but you're spot on that we began understanding and probably respecting each other a lot more when our gaming friends/chatroom conversations were from other countries.

Just proves that all hearts are the same color I suppose.

Canada is a knock-off America that is somehow more expensive.

Still better than most of Europe though, which is just sad.
