The government wants you disarmed, so they can then NOT protect you from criminals. This is a communist strategy used throughout history. The government sends street criminals to kill and beat political opposition, while they deliberately order the police to stand down. It's a system of control.

We've seen this with Stalin & Mao.

The Government allies with criminals, and they allow people to be killed that are political opponents, while only protecting their political supporters.

I have friends in Venezuela. This is what they do there. No guns, but the government provides guns to gangs to harass opposition.
