We have gone past relying on legal constraints, individual morals or checks from competing departments, our government IS tyranical AND does not represent either the people or the constitutional foundations our country is built on.

If they go through with this, warnings are going to have to be issued to the police departments, telling them that they could get killed, and that they should think twice before blatantly violating the Constitution like that.
Many local police want no part of it, either due to constitutionality or the very real fear of what could happen. We won't be sure of who our allies are untill the shtf. I am actually more concerned they will do a slow burn on the agenda till the next generation doesn't realize what is being taken.
