You can absolutely stop engaging in homosexual acts. In my opinion this sort of thing is generally more in line with how God wants you to live your life.

Doesn't just apply to homosexuality BTW, but sexuality in general and life in general. If you find yourself living a less than perfect life, chances are there is something that God would like to tell you about how you are living your life. Being open and then willing to listen in the right way is the hard part.
