We just saw record gun sales last year BECAUSE of people’s mistrust of the way the Government (mis)handles things.

I think they'll start with outlawing the sale of new "assault weapons", and require all current owners to either register them and pay a tax, or sell them "back" to the government. They will probably outlaw all > 10 round mags, as well. They need to do this without inciting rebellion, but they are also on an accelerated timeline for disarmament, so we'll see how they do there.

It’d start with a “voluntary buyback” that’s highly encouraged. Then it’d be labeled “mandatory“ for less money. Then they’ll collect the rest using FBI raids of people’s homes. Few gun owners will be around at that point so they won’t expect resistance
Yea, that’s a good guess on how they’d handle it.
Initial legislation would just allow buybacks but they’d keep pushing after more “totally random mass shooting events”.
I guess they’d want to thin the herd as much as possible before they can focus on the more difficult ones.
