I'm smooth brain and I have a question.
I just recently applied for unemployment, 3/14/2021, and was approved. It automatically enrolled me in PEUC too. At least it says I'm enrolled on my Gov2Go account.
My question is since all the recent stimulus bills have been an extension of the original PEUC and I never exhausted my $600 a week. Will I be getting that instead of $300 or will it start me at $300 next week?
I couldn't find the answer online and everything is closed rn in Virginia.
That money is all gone and you should only get what the state originally covers. I believe the pandemic $600 was exhausted at the end of July to beginning of August. Then there was the was the FEMA injection in August-September for an extra $400 but was only $300 because many of the states wouldn't pay the extra $100 if the fed covered $300 for about 1 month extra worth of those funds.
More or less if you didn't have a job this time last year, you made out like a bandit if you make less than $20/hr. That money was gone before many people even got laid off.
That's what I'm getting at too. It seems since I didnt exhaust my UI I can't apply for PEUC. It looks like I might get the LWA in Virginia since I lost my job due to Covid-19, but it only applies to people that have exhausted their UI, so it seems like I'm pretty much just fucked.
