Natural selection only removes traits that stop you from reproducing. COVID won't kill you before you have a chance to procreate, so it will have very little to no effect on the future of our species, at least not genetically.
The Black Death wiped out a ton of Europeans, leaving only the population with certain genes that helped them survive it. It's not like the infectious disease caused the changes, but rather the people without those changes died off.
