The pilot of a plane going down is not initially worried about crashing. They are running through their SOP and function checks to fix the malfunction. I think this was the thinking. China and India had a over breeding problem (plane crashing) so they implemented these one child policies and frowned upon girl births more or less. That kinda worked but now they have another problem; landing fucking gear is broke. Still gonna crash.
