The way I see it is if they're here to eat us we get to shoot them. If the commies come for our guns we get to shoot them. If the aliens are here to help us then the commies will be pissed off because it will ruin their power grabbing plans and they will go to war with the aliens in which case we get to team up with the aliens and shoot the commies. Either way this plays out we doin some shooting.
