This area is mostly uninhabited, bordering the desolate southwest Texas region. Nearly all of the border in New Mexico, Arizona, and California is completed with new wall construction, with only small areas left unfinished, according to the archived BWS page from the Customs and Border Protection website.
It would take only a short time to fully complete the BWS, in the areas which require new construction.
