Yup. Don't need some piece of shit serving as middleman between me and God. God hears and answers our direct prayers, as He has mine; I'm fallible enough, and don't need a fallible middleman pretending he represents God getting in the way of me and my Creator.
Matthew 16:13- When Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
18 And so I say to you, you are Peter (Aramaic: Cephas, Greek: Petros, all three meaning "rock"), and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
19 I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”
Christ knew that He would require men to carry on his teachings once He was finished. Above we see Christ naming Simon bar Jonah as the rock upon which Christ's Church was to be built upon. Peter, formerly Simon, is given the Keys to the Kingdom, and the authority to make decisions with the authority of the Heavens. Peter is made the First Pope. Divine Truth does not change, but homogenous beliefs are impossible to maintain if everyone has equal authority to interpret what is truth. The Church, through the Magisterium guided by the Holy Spirit as promised by Christ, is the mechanism by which we distinguish genuine revelation and that of heretical lowercase-c "christianity" that supports abortion, gay marriage, divorce, transgenderism, etc.
The Church serves another important purpose: the Sacraments.
Ignoring the necessity of the Church's particular role in the Sacraments of Reconciliation (confession), Communion (by which we receive the Bread of Eternal Life, the Body and Blood of Our Lord), and Marriage is to selectively read the Bible as you (or whomever founded your spin-off) see fit.
Cool, now find the scripture that justifies priests raping little boys and why you should still go to a man-made "place of worship" or else go to hell.
The church is within each of us who believes. I don't need to go to some physical man-made location to be preached to by some flawed and sinful loser to have a connection to God and to follow His teachings.
The Church is the body of believers, not that abomination in the Vatican. Salvation through Christ alone, not some apostate priesthood and pope.
