Julianne Cona, onboard Maersk Denver, witnessed the event.

“They cut us off this morning entering the canal and then this happened,” Cona says. “Right after they ran aground the ship behind us lost power and almost hit us, so it’s been a fun day."

The Maersk Denver was traveling between the two ships Ever Given and Asia Ruby III. Julianne Cona reported that the Asia Ruby had lost power and control as well, and nearly rammed into the Maersk Denver. Lightning striking twice?

Does anyone have an explanation for how two container ships within a mile of each other on the Suez Canal can both lose navigational control in the same hour?

It's not easy to find this little piece of information unless you search for it this way.

The same "Gust of wind" that affected Joe Biden?

A guest of wind is the simplest explanation, so that must be it.

Move on, nothing to see here. Ignore the jamming device sitting there on the bank of the canal.
