Yooooo, big props to Ohioans on this one. Good job, y'all. Limit the fuck out of those unconstitutional edicts.

108
chickeninoven 108 points ago +109 / -1

And that hobbit DeWine has the nerve to call this bill "unconstitutional".

Lolololol.

84
JimQPublic 84 points ago +84 / -0

Limits on the executive branch not being constitutional, lol. The constitution was literally written, as a whole document, to limit the power of executive actors.

23
Jaybone86 23 points ago +23 / -0

It’s pathetic just how fucking stupid these politicians think we all are.

10
ScarfaceMcDank 10 points ago +10 / -0

Is it that they think we are stupid, or is it that they themselves have no understanding of what that word means?

At the highest levels, definitely the former. But when it comes to state legislators... I'll be honest, GOP or Dem, I see nothing but weak men attempting to be non-threatening.

I'm attempting to fix my state's problem by getting involved locally. The GOP men running for office in VA are about the most limp wristed men I could imagine....and I have an antifa tattoo y'all....

Ohioans are cheering because the legislature is telling DeWine he had no authority to do a lot of what he did, not because someone who took our rights is giving them back. It took them a year longer than they should have, but they are taking the proper action against DeWine's tyranny.

StoicSnowPlow 30 points ago +30 / -0

The fucking shit of it is, if this goes to the Ohio Supreme Court, his son will be a part of the decision. Our fucking governor (who was the AG in OH) has a son as an Ohio Supreme Court justice. Seems about right.

This shit should be limited to ONE immediate family member at a time. If you have a father/mother/son/daughter/brother/sister in office at any level, you can fuck off. And to anyone who says judges aren't political...LOL.

15
Donald4thewin 15 points ago +15 / -0

1
StoicSnowPlow 1 point ago +1 / -0

No. There are millions of eligible and qualified people from other families that can fill the role. There is no need for a single family to have so much power in our government. It can lead to nothing but negative consequences.

He doesn't have to be a judge, he can continue as a lawyer instead. Or his father can fuck off and allow the son to step into politics. There should not be multiple people from the same family in politics at the same time. I would even go so far as to say it needs to be 1 generation removed. If your father was in politics, your son/daughter can go into politics. You cannot.

We have a massive nepotism problem in this country.

I still contend he's responsible for starting the shut down of the country. He was the first one to come out and start banning NCAA Tournament events in his state. The whole tournament ended up getting cancelled because there were a ton of games scheduled to take place in Ohio. After that all the other tyrants jumped on the bandwagon. He's as big a piece of garbage as any of the Leftist tyrants.

6
KeeptheChief 6 points ago +6 / -0

Don't forget the Arnold Invitational in Columbus, that was the first big event that was cancelled.

I still can't believe people didn't vote for Mary Taylor. She was on the steps in March of 18 with big Ohio gun groups and was staunchly 2nd. Boggles my mind Dewine was elected regardless of this topic alone.

1
KeeptheChief 1 point ago +1 / -0

I've thought the same thing. I think DeWine won because he's from southwest Ohio and has more name recognition.

1
mrxforsenate19909902 1 point ago +1 / -0

That and a lot of people didn't like that Taylor was behind Kasich which was understandable but she was pretty much "any pro 2nd bill that hits my desk I'm signing regardless of Federal law." So that gave me hope we could actually get shit done here.

1
InarosPrime 1 point ago +1 / -0

Why not recall?

3
Dialectic 3 points ago +3 / -0

Not every state has this. I don’t think we do. Our legislature discussed impeachment last year but at the time there were too many fags in the legislature. Ohio’s election actually worked and we got some conservatives in. Those conservatives in the senate gave the super majority needed for veto override

2
mrxforsenate19909902 2 points ago +2 / -0

I like the limits on the Health Department! Here in Michigan, Whitler’s actions were similarly deemed unconstitutional in 2020. As a workaround, she delegated all power to the Health Department, and they’ve gone unchecked since last October.

10

This is my problem with our side. They lack any type of creativity so they can't foresee the bullshit the Left is going to pull, meanwhile most of us on this site would have predicted Shitmer's trickery and head it off. Good to see they learned a lesson in Ohio but it would be nice to see our side be ahead of the curve for a change.

I take it the nays represent places like Cincy, Columbus and anything near a big city?

9
TheUsurper 9 points ago +9 / -0

House Minority Leader Emilia Sykes, an Akron Democrat....also said that lawmakers “are not good at public health,” noting that many Republican lawmakers have ignored federal health guidelines during the coronavirus crisis by refusing to wear face masks or get vaccinated.

Oh the horror! Of course DeWine is being defended by Demoncrats. That tells you all you need to know about him.

Montgomery county is weird. Obviously the city of Dayton is a leftist shit hole, but there are enough based suburbs that the county actually went for Trump in 2016

3
mrxforsenate19909902 3 points ago +3 / -0

This makes me think we can actually get some pro gun legislation done in Ohio. Why it hasn't happened I don't know.

2
Audiogarden79 2 points ago +2 / -0

Eh, at least we got stand your ground laws passed recently (Dewine was against that as well of course)

1
mrxforsenate19909902 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yeah... without all the civil immunities. Still a lot of work to do.

2
Audiogarden79 2 points ago +2 / -0

Agreed, much more. They've tried pushing through castle doctrin here a few times, and it fails every time. Hopefully they get this 2nd amendment sanctuary state bill passed. The fucking idiots running Columbus, especially Andrew Ginther, are constantly trying to infringe on 2A here. They managed to outlaw the sale of toy guns withjn the city, so we're totally safe now! Meanwhile we've had shootings at two separate malls in a week's time.

2
mrxforsenate19909902 2 points ago +2 / -0

By the way fuck Andrew Ginther, that fat fuck was the reason our beloved State house was trashed. Fuck that son of a bitch.

NEOhioan here, and I would say that's not likely, otherwise you would have seen Summit county dark blue, and Stark county go from red to blue. Ohio was only blue in the democratic strongholds (ie, major city centers like the 3C's, Youngstown, Toledo, Akron, Dayton, et al) and red everywhere else.

4
slowmotrin 4 points ago +5 / -1

No, it's because Ohio is seen as a moderate keystone state, so the politicians put up are always the center left middle of the road kind of guys. same thing with Arizona, although it may be trending more blue these days.

Dayton was a powerhouse for auto parts manufacturing before 2008. As of 2016, it was a dump in the areas where they picked up and left for China. Not surprisingly, the citizens have the memory of a goldfish and voted for the person responsible for destroying their city's economy.

Sadly, yes. 90 days.

Sad that it needs to be reasserted, but at least they're doing it now.

Should have been thrown out of office when he canceled the March 2020 primaries. Months and months ago. John Becker filed recall papers with very little support from either side. Dewine and Acton have lost every case brought against them by 1851 Center for Constitutional Law. https://ohioconstitution.org/ More lawsuits pending. Jack Windsor of the Ohio Star has been reporting on the faked Covid numbers. Half the businesses in Ohio are shut down. Many restaurants and businesses will never make it back. People couldn’t get their unemployment checks or get through calling even. Food banks were over ran. Our statehouse was horribly vandalized twice, broken into and police was told to stand down. Protests at his home on Friday nights from Moms against Dewine. Total dictator RINO. He should have been removed from office a year ago.
