Serious question. How does a government even do anything about "stalkers" that decide to kill the person they're stalking? I can't see a scenario where this man would have been prevented from committing the murder that doesn't seriously pose a threat to people's liberties.
People need to rely less on the government for protection and more on themselves. Perhaps a woman who has a known stalker needs to only go out with her dad/brother or carry a gun herself.
Cases like these aren't police failures, they are societal failures from the way in which the government oppresses it's citizens. If she has a stalker she should carry a gun or have family/friends protect her.
The police honestly can't do much and they shouldn't be expected to, this is not really their realm. Police aren't bodyguards nor should they be.
Well, this happened in the UK, so she really didn’t have an option to have a firearm for protection because of the massive gun control that’s in place there (like most of Europe). I get what you’re saying, though. Stalkers seem like unpredictable entities and the grand majority of people, even in first world countries, can’t afford their own bodyguard(s) or security detail, so the police are relied upon. Such a horrific thing what happened to this girl when all is said and done.
