Trump and Kim may not have been friends, but they had a good rapport (kind of like how Reagan and Gorbachev had a cordial relationship). In some of the photographs of the two of them Kim is smiling and it looks genuine. Kim also seemed thrilled that Trump was willing to cross the border into North Korea.
It's similar to Trump's relationship with Putin. It's almost like strong men respect other strong men.
Trump was the first world leader to ever call NK's bluff and, more, threaten to utterly annihilate them if they didn't change their demeanor. Then he flew over there and walked across the border into NK without any protection whatsoever. Kim had to have respected him for that to the point where he was willing to play ball, especially since Trump meant what he said about bringing NK onto the world stage and giving it the respect we would any sovereign nation, including bringing the country (which is largely still stuck in the 50s and 60s) into the modern era.
It was completely within Kim's interest to work with Trump. I don't blame him for going back to normal now that US policy has shifted back to the globalist agenda.
Oh Shit! Where is Trump when you need him.
kim jong-un is so ronery without trump. he misses him
