Same here. He was kicked out of the republican party for being not-conservative. The lefties called it "progressive" back then too, but changed the name as it became known for what it was, just the same ol' statist crap.
This is in no way founded on facts. Teddy was the "wealthy money interest" (cousin to FDR). He wanted more govt. intervention/control in the economy. Dig a little, stick to primary sources, and you will see.
