Caesar tried to reform Rome's corrupt Senate to give power back to the people, and the Senate killed him for it. When his son Octavian later gained power, he killed all of his political opponents and declared himself emperor. Caesar tried to give them a chance. The next guy knew better.

The farce that was the 2020 election was Caesar's assassination. Who will Octavian be? And more importantly, what will he do?

Octavian (Augustus) had to take down Marc Antony and Cleopatra too, because they were trying to take over the empire as well. Augustus might have been the one to restore the republic, had it not been for his uncle Julius' creating the new title 'dictator for life'.

Once one has power, they never relinquish it.
