it's still early days and you turn on people instantly

it's clear you have no idea what they're up against

Instantly?

There's been plenty of red flags with Noem that most of us shrugged off for well known reasons, I like many other people are willing to accept differences on some issues but in this situation Noem has not acted in an honest manner.

if Noem had objections, like every other governor she could have made them known during the normal bill process. That is how passing a bill works — when governors actually want a bill they’re willing to sign.

On 8 March of this year:

She tweeted her promise to sign the bill with these provisions in it before it passed. A friendly Gov works with the Leg. to raise concerns before a bill passes. Then the Leg. can make changes. She said nothing. She could have easily cured the supposed technical problems.

Governor Noem is not acting in good faith with her own legislature in a Republican controlled state.

Absolutely correct. She was gungho for the bill until it actually passed, then she went radio silent as the Corporate Pressure Groups threatened financing for future campaigns if she signed it.

"Legal Scholars on the National Level" Who? NCAA Corporate bigwigs? ACLU?

so instead of protecting women's sports you obliterated them for every girl in south dakota to make a point?

that's why she's the leader and you're just a dumb citizen with a larger opinion than you deserve

The value of having the support of the NCAA is not worth the cost of sacrificing ones soul.

souls don't exist

So don't expect them to fight back. Great standard.

she IS fighting, with a multi-state coalition to achieve the necessary bargaining power to ACTUALLY win a fight

letting people who know what they're doing actually do their job is indeed a great standard

Multi-state coalition = "Raise Money and issue White Papers. Sue Nobody, Take No Real Action, Support RINOs"

Leftists win because they don't do this. They through dung at the wall constantly, and eventually it sticks. RINO Permalosers look for reasons to quit on the verge of victory

life doesn't work that way

A coalition of what, emails? If she really wanted a multi-state legal battle she could have signed the bill. Then the other state AGs would have joined her legal battle.

-2
Fignugent -2 points ago +1 / -3

that's not how it works

signing the bill is starting a fight on their terms with NO ONE on your side

forming a coalition is finding people to fight, finding out what forces you actually have, then making a battle plan that wins the fight you take on your own terms

Why are you ignoring that she enthusiastically supported the bill and promised to sign it and only had a change of "thinking" after the bill passed?

As governor of a GOP controlled state she had every opportunity to be part of the process in crafting and guiding the legislation.

It really looks like sabotage to me and let's not forget that Noem has been weak on trans issues before:

Governor Noem Has Concerns About HB 1057

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says she has “concerns” about a bill in the House that would make it illegal for physicians to administer gender-change treatments to children under 16. The Republican governor has declined to offer full support or disapproval. The bill would allow for physicians who perform surgeries, administer hormone therapy or prescribe puberty-blocking medication to minors to be charged with a misdemeanor. Democrats and LGBT activists say the bill targets transgender kids and could lead to an increase in suicides. Supporters, including many Republicans in the House, say the bill would prevent physicians from administering ideologically motivated treatment that harms children.

and only had a change of "thinking" after the bill passed?

she had a change of thinking when state lawyers said she'd never win a case against the NCAA if they just removed college sports from her state over this bill

you change your mind on things when you get information from people who actually know what the fuck they're talking about and advise you

that's how INTELLIGENCE works
