The FBI does it all the time and has been for decades, especially with it's terrorism cases.
Republican legislators should pass legislation increasing punishment for federal entrapment and provide a public legal fund for victims of federal entrapment and only appoint judges that are opposed to it and will rule against it.

If entrapment is already illegal, and the courts won't do anything to curtail it, getting more lawyers involved (and wealthier) isn't going to help.

It's that last part of your last sentence that is almost impossible to prove in court, thus making it almost impossible to prove entrapment.

They infiltrated the movement and got people to turn to violence or committed it themselves and let Trump supporters take the fall. The vast, vast majority were peaceful, but the little destruction and violence was enough for both parties to smile, throw up their hands, act helpless and give the authorities cart blanche authority to target people. You seem very slow on this. If the government did this and targeted civilians without justification they're be a massive fall out, so they produce or encourage that justification so they can clamp down as hard as they want.
