No. I'm not that naïve.
Just pointing out to others who may not know that this is supposed to be illegal.
Law enforcement, however, illegally utilizes entrapment to setup people all the time.
Entrapment is a practice in which a law enforcement agent or agent of the state induces a person to commit a "crime" that the person would have otherwise been unlikely or unwilling to commit.
It's that last part of your last sentence that is almost impossible to prove in court, thus making it almost impossible to prove entrapment.
In the case of January 6, 2021
It's silly to suggest that people would have gone inside the Capitol Building if the Capitol Police were genuinely guarding the entry ways.
Multiple videos show officers waving people inside, removing barriers out of their way, and even escorting them inside.
A good defense attorney is an honest, authentic, genuine justice system should be able to get the defendants off the charges.
Sadly, the justice system is broken as you and others have pointed out.
