Of course an 18 year old is mature enough to own a firearm. They can be tried as an adult for any crimes they commit. What confuses me is why they are still allowed to gamble but can’t smoke or drink. 18 year olds can still be drafted or join the military.
I mean I got my first knife in first grade, carried knives to school (used to be fine), shot my first pistol in 2nd grade, owned my first rifle in 3rd grade, and when the fam had break-ins at our house they loaded me up with a shotgun and a German made Sig 9mm.
The best way to do it is raise your kids around firearms, so that they are properly trained on safety, versus them finally feeling cool by touching a gun and causing a fatal accident.
Oh and 14yr olds fought with more than hugs and kisses in our revolutionary war, so gun Karens can go service themselves.
