Joe is softening up a little. Like opposing gun control

He is getting the message that he changes or he is out

He's a worthless POS shut up with the Joe Manchin fan club. Basta! Manchin just won reelection as well so he's in for a few more years probably doesn't care what the fools in WV think they still vote for him anyways.

10
Joesf23 10 points ago +10 / -0

Muh moderate democrat is only a made up media label. They only vote against D bills when it is safe to do so on bill that is going to fail or pass by a lot. They all fall in line when push comes to shove unlike our bags of shit in the GOP who think having a little communism is okay as long as it shows bi partisan voting.

11
froggos 11 points ago +11 / -0

That's Manchin's game. He will talk a good game for attention and to flex for his own power within the Party, and then fold when it actually matters. I assume he plays this squeeky wheel role just enough until the Party powers grease his palms.

4

The average teacher is a socialist sympathizing self indulged educated idiot. We have been letting this awful class of people fuck up our childrens lives way too long by not breaking the backs of the teachers unions and putting kids first before these losers.

63
Fecklessgod 63 points ago +63 / -0

I know public school teachers personally. They are lefties, and complete retard NPCs. They all have the same opinions and all seem to think everyone agrees with them.

Public schools teachers in my opinion are for the most part just commie trash that perpetuates leftism.

35
Berglewits 35 points ago +35 / -0

Agreed, I honestly could write an entire essay that goes way over the .win character limit about how awful teachers are as a group of people. They almost all have this hero complex where they think because they are this great Socrates like figure teaching the youth to think and that they deserve worship for it. They get paid way over the median and average pay in the US while working less then have the gall to constantly ask for more money and more time off because their life is just too hard. They constantly push leftist political propaganda as history, overstate the validity of science on certain subjects, savagely abuse any kid who is a non conformist, step on the slower learners while simultaneously holding the fastest back. The one thing above all others i despise is how they talk about critical thinking and questioning everything but the second its turned back on them they demand complete compliance. Those hypocritical faggots want to be obeyed and believed with zero deviation but preach that they are for free thought it's embarrassing. I am going to stop now because I could go on in much greater detail but it just makes my blood boil.

There is no group I genuinely hate more than what passes for educators in our country. Please for the love of god and your children homeschool or private school them if at all possible, if you can't do that be as involved as possible in their day to day school lives. If you are just sending them to school and hoping for good outcomes you are completely enabling these awful people to ruin your kids lives.

24
Username 24 points ago +24 / -0

The whole "a hero live here" yard signs for teachers drove me crazy last year. It's definitely a cult. Can't say anything bad about system. My sister-in-law is a teacher and she takes things so emotionally it's crazy.

16
VenusDe 16 points ago +16 / -0

My cousin is a teacher too and she's the same.

One recent example: She cannot get over the governor of her state (SC) saying months ago that "many teachers just don't want to go back to in person instruction" -- she took that as a PERSONAL INSULT ranting "how dare he say that about me! I love my students!"

Now in truth, she is one of the few dedicated teachers who really does try to reach every one of her students, etc. BUT even though I told her "if he wasn't talking about you when he said 'many' then don't be insulted" she cannot separate it. Oh no, it was a personal attack on her SMDH

5
Gnometard 5 points ago +5 / -0

Still bothers me to see that about first responders and stuff...

Bro, doctors nurses and EMTs chise their job, they're doing it, and it's really not any worse than a bad flu season.

The real heroes, if the virus was actually bad, were the low level employees at what was left open the whole time. They got paid shit to be exposed to the "deadliest virus ever"?

10
VenusDe 10 points ago +10 / -0

IMO, what you are describing is about 40% of the teachers out there -- truly awful people as you describe.

5% are truly dedicated teachers and good people sincerely trying to help their students.

For the rest it is just a job and they DGAF about the kids, teaching or anything beyond their pay check.

9
Berglewits 9 points ago +9 / -0

I think that's a fair statement, the people who DGAF are also scum however and they work with the lefties to keep themselves protected so they can never be fired. Go look at a place like the dogshit schools in Baltimore. I highly doubt that any of those bags of trash are really politically involved they are just self serving but they work with the unions which are definitely far left wing and support them because of the mutual protection they receive.

10
AlabamaSlamma 10 points ago +10 / -0

Wow, someone that feels the exact way I do about the majority of teachers in America.

And I've found it's not limited to the bluest corners of our biggest cities, it seems to be everywhere.

You can go to BFE Texas and go into a rural classroom and meet some 25 year old girl with the exact same "beliefs" as teachers in San Francisco.

3

We all bitch about teachers while not becoming teachers. We need reinforcements

7
Carry_Your_Name 7 points ago +7 / -0

No need for an essay, I'll make it simple for ya: those teachers are priests of leftist religion, classrooms are their synagogues, commie core is their scripture, faculty is their clergy, students are their congregation, and whoever disagrees with them is a heretic. Once you see them through a religious lens, everything gets clear.

5
Fecklessgod 5 points ago +5 / -0

I just wanted to comment on how much I agree with you. They always bitch about “having to pay from my own pocket for supplies” or how they have to grade papers at home!!!!

My fucking god, what a hard life. Number 1, you don’t need to spend your own money. That shit is on you. Number 2, they act like no one in the history of the planet has worked off hours, or has worked overtime, or gotten in early to work but them.

And yes they are sanctimonious about their job, like they have some special place in society. The reality is many people don’t like them or their attitude or the power they have on families that they can throw off everyone’s lives by striking, and on top of that they are shit educators. Our country’s public schools are not top in the world, they constantly churn out retards. Then they have the nerve to act like they are special.

Bunch of cunts.

8
MightyEighth 8 points ago +8 / -0

the biggest problem is teachers who think it’s their job to raise someone’s kids, let alone give them their personal opinions on the world and call it “education”

5
anonymousdonor 5 points ago +5 / -0

Every time these goofy teachers say "my kids" I want to throw them out a window. They're your students, your pupils. They are my kids.

5

4
Friend_of_John_Galt 4 points ago +4 / -0

I know a couple teachers personally who oppose the teacher's union but fear them. We need to get schools that aren't subject to the union mainstream. Pay the good ones well and fire the bad ones.

3
BarackObongo 3 points ago +3 / -0

My mom is a based public school teacher and can't stand the Frankfurt school Marxism bull shit spewed from the pits of hell.

Problem is you can't speak out or the others will attack and slander. Very much of a gang mentality. Teacher unions are completely worthless money pits that serve nothing but to advance the communistic agenda to destroy the West.

2
Arcticwolf55 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know several teacher personally, and in my perception its mostly the social studys and English teachers that are heavy left (remember hearing storys how the head of the SS department threw a fit when a kid wore a mega hat to class after 2016 election). While math and science teachers are more conservative or just moderate. Even in my heavy dem leaning county.

1
Richy_Rich 1 point ago +1 / -0

Confirmed... My mother is a California teacher.

But it was really nice having her basically do my science fair projects for me in elementary school. I still went on to get a degree in nuclear engineering so it’s not like the science fair actually helped foster anything!

State Sen. Patricia Rucker, the Republican chair of the Senate Education Committee and chief architect of the ESA effort, has a few theories about what made the difference. First, she believes the majority of West Virginians never opposed school choice in the first place; they were SIMPLY AFRAID TO SAY SO.

13
deanieboi 13 points ago +13 / -0

I actually personally know Mrs. Rucker, she's pretty based

8
basedvirginian 8 points ago +8 / -0

Can someone enlighten me on why school choice is seen as a bad thing? Isn’t the whole purpose to get kids out of failing schools?

12
ALargeRock 12 points ago +12 / -0

Because certain schools, mostly in cities, push bullshit propaganda and don’t actually do a good job of teaching. However, strong teachers unions (which is a pretty clever thing to hide behind) strong arm communities to keep increasing public funding.

So you have a situation where public funds are being spent to harm communities via locking children in with their schools; a Democrat/CCP gold mine of evil. They use media to push keeping students in failing schools.

As we all know, competition breeds excellence and if schools have to compete on educational standards, then public schools will collapse as the free(r) market will blow them away.

School choice makes total sense for freedom loving patriots that want a better America. It is in direct opposition to establishment globohomo Democrats and their cronies.

3
RageQuit 3 points ago +3 / -0

It also encourages Juanita to set up her own fraudulent school and collect a big paycheck. I sure hope they don't enforce standards. Paying to keep their spawn away from my kids is money well spent.

5
Reality_Check 5 points ago +6 / -1

Because often times schools are failing because of the people going there, and introducing them to new schools ends up causing problems for the new school. I have personal experience with this. The problem isn't "school choice ", it's demographics. But you can't talk about that because there might be one Mexican kid who would do better even if it brings down 80% of the kids at the new school.

What makes people think they're going to put some low iq kid who is violent and has parents who don't care into a nice school and he's magically going to change. And that's how it ALWAYS ends up. There's this fairy tale thinking that the SMART parents are going to pull their kids and move them, but that's not real. The reason these schools are bad in the first place is BECAUSE of the people.

I was forced into a mixed high-school because of school choice and it became one of the lowest performance schools in the state, with increased violence and metal detectors after one year.

They imported 2 low performance black kids into my kid's private school class on A "disadvantaged " scholarship and they're a constant disruption and already have made the class "slow down" for them.

It's like people who think if we just take south Chicago and put it in Beverly Hills then suddenly all the problems with south Chicago wouldn't manifest. It's magical thinking. Even poor white kids have better SAT scores than black kids in high income households.

1
ukr567 1 point ago +1 / -0

Last summer I read Sowel's book on Charter schools, he has a ton of data in there, quite interesting. My take from it was this. Basically discipline work ;) unlike normal school successful charters can and do kick violent kids out. In many cases if you get rid of the worst 10% rest can do very well. That and being able to fire useless teachers not he spot.

I think you are right that with school where kids can not get kicked out and discipline is not enforced it is basically all based on people going there. Once school can actually act as a school things change quite a bit

5
Isolated_Patriot 5 points ago +5 / -0

Because then the white people take their kids out of the failing schools, or something like that. It's not "fair" to the failing schools.

4
that_sound 4 points ago +4 / -0

Because it's bigger than schools. Because implementing school choice would implement competition. It would create a free market (or something approaching that). And if it worked, that would prove to everyone that free markets work better than centrally-planned government-run communist control. It could break the whole scheme.

School Choice being a bad thing makes more sense if you consider the possibility that TPTB are not interested in educating your children. Just as a mental exercise, just for a minute, assume that the government is intentionally mis-educating your children.

We are in a transition period. The communists took over education and started indoctrinating children. This changed the culture as the early children grew into adults, as intended. But it's hard to hide the fact that schools run by commies don't work. Nothing run by commies works. As intended - it protects the people running the show.

One way or another, we will choose whether to let competition do its thing, or let central planners plan everything for us.

End public unions!

3
Joesf23 3 points ago +3 / -0

It is only bad for teachers union because god forbid they actually have to step up their teaching game and try to give a shit about something more important than their fucking pension, 3 months off, and blm brainwashing platform.

2
ADAM_SCHITT 2 points ago +2 / -0

3
xrp_moon_shot 3 points ago +4 / -1

Sadly still one of only a few states that have no philosophical or religious vaccine exemptions for kids in school or day care.

School choice is great but mandatory injections makes it a non starter.

8
Throwingway22 8 points ago +8 / -0

It's a slow grind, but WV is getting there. It may have had the highest margins of Trump support of anywhere in the country but it's still a state that exemplified the working-class democrat coalition of 50 years ago and those ancestral democrats still vote democrat. We were still voting democrats into the governors mansion in '16 and both Manchin and Byrd where democrats that are beloved for what they did to help the state, Manchin as Governor and Byrd in the Senate. The tide is breaking, though. Jim Justice left the Democrats and Manchin has broken ranks on key issues over the last four years, even if he did let himself get beaten back into line. I think Manchin either swaps parties in the next four years or this is his last term, but we'll see.

2
WakeUpAmerica 2 points ago +2 / -0

There is a big push to remove ALL vaccine exemptions - in all states.

In CA now only a medical exemption is allowed.

Not only has the government made it really difficult to get a medical exemption (nearly impossible), they even tried to get rid of that exemption.

Other states are following CA by removing exemptions.

2
xrp_moon_shot 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yep I was just going over the proposed bills by state a couple days ago.

As you would expect, the redder the state, generally they are bringing forward bills that increase exemptions and/or protect people from discrimination based on vaccine status (thus banning vaccine passports).

The bluer the state pretty much the opposite scenario.

1
MasklessMarvel 1 point ago +2 / -1

mandatory vaccinations are for public schools

parents can choose a private school, even one associated with their religion

WV will get there the political climate is changing

where I live, there are mask mandates but only big companies really enforce them

3
xrp_moon_shot 3 points ago +3 / -0

Greatly appreciate your reply but from my research (I want to move to Elkins from the New England) it's still mandatory in private schools.

Looks like they tried recently but failed. Close vote.

I still want to move to Elkins but I have kids that are coming up on school age and it's a pretty major issue.

https://www.herald-dispatch.com/news/bill-to-exempt-w-va-private-schools-from-vaccine-requirements-fails-to-pass-committee/article_abcd5d9b-0351-5aa0-beab-92a3fa10dda3.html

Isn't this a good thing?

Applicants for the Hope Scholarship will receive 100 percent of their state education dollars — $4,600 annually — in lieu of public schooling. (County and federal funds will remain in the system.) The scholarship is usable for private school tuition, homeschool curriculum, or other education expenses. Gov. Jim Justice, a vocal opponent of ESAs as recently as 2019, has signaled he’s likely to sign.

Take your kids out of public schools!

Can someone explain how the teacher's unions got so powerful?

4
MasklessMarvel 4 points ago +4 / -0

it's easy

unions are big supporters of democrats. they use their members dues to support dem candidates (whether the member supports the candidate or not)

in return, the dems do them favors like not requiring merit to for raises or tp even keep their jobs, keeping summers off and throwing in extra "educational funds" for teachers' salaries

teachers don't even have to teach anymore. they just make the kids memorize the answers to standardized tests

4
GlobalUnity 4 points ago +4 / -0
