I used to refer friends and co-workers to this place, but recently it seems like every other comment is racist as fuck. From 13%/55% stuff to 'OMG ITS TEH JEWS', it's getting to be too much. I no longer refer folks here because I don't want to be associated with some of those comments. We have a deport button, I actively use it on the egregious stuff, but nothing ever seems to happen. If we allow ourselves to be co-opted by a bunch of hate mongers, we're going to fail in the original goal of this site.
Note: I'm not saying that you can't discuss racial issues, and won't deny that alot of the minor comments should stay. But I literally just came from a thread arguing with a guy about how his family fought a race war, that blacks were genetically inferior, and that culture was linked to genetics. It's fucking absurd.
How I see it: a lot of us are like Trump, in which we are speaking things that are true and verifiable, but we don't say it like it should be said. We say truth in a very rugged way and that puts a lot of people off on our arguments on things.
I will talk about Jews, because well, I am Jewish and love the Torah (a great read for anyone looking for some wisdom). People on here are correct that Jews are over-represented in media and politics in comparison to their actual population percentage. That is a verifiable fact. Now is there a grand conspiracy to put certain Jews in power so that they can benefit others who are Jewish? maybe, but it seems like I wasn't invited.
The truth of course can be explained in a substantial part by cultural, genetic, and political phenomenon. In regards to cultural: most Jews that survived WW2 and came to America were extremely hard-workers and extremely tough, this toughness and resiliency had an impact on parenting, which resulted in certain personality types manifesting in their children, which has resulted furthermore in other personality types manifesting in their grandchildren. These personality types seems to be more attracted to media, politics, and lawyers, which has led to an over-representation. The communal aspect of the Jewish community, also likely has led to networking for these positions.
As far as genetic disposition is concerned: Jews could possible have a higher standard deviation in terms of IQ. (There is no scientific proof that Jews are smarter in terms of mean, though there're rumors) Higher Standard Deviation would mean that there're a lot of smart Jews and a lot of dumb Jews. Another possibility is higher verbal IQ across the board, this has not been researched, but it is possible that Jews are worse at math and much better at talking, which balances out general intelligence for a specialized intelligence. Verbal IQ would be very important in business, politics, media, and law. In my own experience, I have a pretty high mathematics IQ, but my verbal IQ is actually higher (Though, I am more interested in math-based fields)
And lastly Political Phenomenon. This is more related to the communal aspect of the Jewish community for the purposes of networking. Over the summer, I was looking for a technology internship and some of my cousins were of great help in my search as they worked within tech. This networking effect and the political atmosphere of the Jewish Community, cannot be undersold. This is also why I believe that Blacks are pre-dispositioned for success if they got rid of the economic policies and learned helplessness that are holding them back. If blacks stopped being college-mismatched, stopped having single-parent households, and stopped voting for more welfare (or subsidization of economic failure), and stopped gang culture then the network-effect of black churches would propel blacks into jobs and up the corporate ladder. While, I do not believe that will happen with the current political climate, I believe it is a real possibility. Blacks were plenty successful during the pre-civil rights, in spite of actual racist policies against them. I would love to see more blacks like Thomas Sowell.
So, back to the original topic at hand. A lot of people on this site would not provide you with the details about Jewish success, but they most certainly noticed it. They notice that there is a massive over-representation in certain fields and those fields seem to be against them as the little guy. And from a layman's perspective, what conclusions do they draw? We draw very rugged conclusions about some things that are verifiably true and that can seem very distasteful to some, but to others, it is speaking their language.
Paid by the letter are we?
