I tend to disagree. If someone can prove to have been a slave and who their owner was then they could sue for damages to receive reparations. I wouldn't automatically dismiss such a case.
So all you have to do to get reparations is to be black and a couple hundred years old.
You forgot you also have to sue the individual or group that enslaved you. So you have to be a couple hundred years old with proof you where enslaved, AND have a couple hundred year old slave owner to sue. Also who would be considered more at fault? The slave owner, the slave transporter, or the people who put you in slavery first? I would argue the initial person or group that captured and enslaved someone would be the primary defendant in any reparations lawsuit. So would you then have Blacks in the US suing Blacks in Africa?
Who captured blacks, and sold them all around the world. Who started doing that over a thousand years ago. Who themselves used slaves taken from weaker tribes, and killed millions because of tribalism. How many tribes in Africa have disappeared from the face of the earth because of what is genocide on a massive level. Who still engages in that practice of human bondage ??? Think hard. Even in the US during slavery how many free blacks (thousands) owned numerous slaves. The blacks created a market for slaves, and yet don't claim responsibility ? How self serving is that.
I might be in favor of voluntary reparations, but it would first require better boarder security. People could take a one time reparations payment in exchange for revoking their US citizenship and moving back to their country of origin. Get your one time payment and GTFO. They could live like royalty over there until they were murdered or enslaved.

But Obama destroyed Libya which under Gaddafi had the highest standard of living for all its citizens in all of Africa, if not much of the world.
