I teach a high school morality class and about a week in I realized my students and I were speaking an entirely different language. I'm not that old (33), but I grew up with objective truth and universal right and wrong. These kids have been raised to think truth and right and wrong are a matter of opinion and are completely malleable to each person's whims.
I tried to make a point by saying "what about the holocaust? surely we can say THAT was wrong." to which my students replied, "it was right to Hitler, so who are we to say it's wrong."
These kids are being brainwashed into justifying genocide....
Of course they're also all paradoxically convinced racism and disagreeing with LGBT is a cardinal sin. Good luck explaining the logic of that...
