I have been talking to a girl on a dating site. Seems decent but she said she enjoyed reading Michele Obama's book. Ugh. Would you guys say that is enough of a reason not to date her? She's pushing to talk on the phone soon but I don't know if I want to move forward now.

I read Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis. You might find it enlightening.

She lived in Chicago, and she was told that the system is rigged against her. When she went to Princeton, she found out that the system itself was not rigged, but that the more Liberal a white person claimed to be, the more distant that person would be.
I went to the DC are from Houston about the time Michelle went to Princeton. I found the same nasty attitude, directed toward people were from flyover country. I also noticed, after a while, that I wasn't seeing any black people in ordinary positions of authority, as I was accustomed to, in Texas.
A couple of years later I moved to Chicago, where everything was much more normal, and adults co-operated to get work done, without regard to trivialities.
I think Michelle and I detected the same thing in white Liberals, only she thought it was race prejudice and I thought it was provincialism.
At the time, I was a pull-the-lever Democrat, during the Reagan administration, but this was the beginning of my disillusionment with East Coast "Liberals" began. They were not in fact Liberal or accepting of others.
