Unless he's a convicted felon or ATL has local laws against passive-defensive measures (like body armor) or some other dumb shit that dems come up with. But yeah it's common to have 6 guns for a 3 gun match-- guys usually carry duplicates of pistol, rifle, shotgun in case one goes down during the match.
