I never get this. Have you entirely forgotten your childhood? Most kids, as kids, have some idea what they like. Or don't like.
Except we're not talking about being a picky eater, or what their preferred superhero is. Unless the implication is that this is just as inconsequential.
After all, 10 year olds are never wrong. They're never confused, or manipulated, or misguided, or anything like that. They're never mistreated, or abused, and subsequently warped and left with emotional, behavioral, and psychological issues that could ever lead them to making bad decisions. They're totally rational, fully developed people with extensive experience and knowledge. Whatever they like or don't like, whatever they want or don't want, whatever their preferences are in the moment, they're totally correct and well informed, and it's all natural. They don't need any guidance, or parenting, or instruction. Whatever they choose at the age of 10 is obviously legitimate, so you should never tell a 10 year old no, either.
What if a 10 year old decides they like an adult?
