Yes, unfortunately there really isn't anything even remotely resembling 'community' amongst atheists, and many are so blinded by their ironically fervent lack of faith that they refuse to acknowledge the massive successes brought forth by classical liberalism, which was helped in large part by Protestant Christian values.
Most other atheists I've interacted with online have been raving leftists unable to separate the cultural value of Christianity from its dogma. It's highly irritating.

The affirmation is based on lack of belief. The same lack of belief you have for the 3000 some other God's you don't believe in.
