I tell people I am atheist, but atheists say I'm agnostic. I wouldn't say I am genuinely agnostic. What do you mean by that?
For me, there is knowing and there is believing. I believe there is no God, but I don't know that. That's usually where the "you're agnostic" comments come from, although it's an absurd thing to claim to know, in either direction.
Atheism is the absolute belief that there is no God or gods.
Theism is the absolute belief in God or gods.
Agnosticism is the belief that there's no way to know one way or the other.
it's a bit of an over simplification, but not much.
Personally, I think there is a possibility (not necessarily a probability) of a higher order being but I don't believe He or She (or Xhe, just in case) would be anything like what people would imagine as God. I don't believe in destiny or any preordination or fate etc.
I think anyone who would be God wouldn't care a great deal about us and if God did, He wouldn't be very impressed. Humans, in general, and especially in large numbers...very much suck.
There's not a single religion I've ever looked at that resonated with me in any real way and I've looked at literally dozens of major and dozens and dozens more of minor religions.
And I agree, if I am wrong about the existence of the divine, then deism is definitely the next up to bat. I cannot believe; refuse to believe in the existence of a benevolent creator who makes this (warning, this image may disgust you):
This is sure to get downvoted if any Christian reads it, but if God exists, he's an asshole. I can't wrap my head around people praying to an all powerful God who created the world in which the crisis of child rape and trafficking they are praying for was created. That to me would make God implicit.
