Having lived in inner-city Houston I'm no stranger to the "benevolence" from our outlying gated communities who always ponied up money to keep non-profits out of their neighborhoods. Inner city property was skyrocketing, but these "poor" non-profits always found the money to purchase a city block for a residential development or rehab.
Sadly, Texas is screwed unless we start shuttling them to DC.
