I hope you don’t get downvoted because it is true. Protestants and especially Catholics have adopted what’s called “liberation theology”. It is a synthesis of Christian theology and socio-economic analyses (Marxism) that emphasizes "social concern for the poor and political liberation for oppressed peoples." That Jesus was sent less to save us from our sins to lead us to Heaven instead of damnation, and more to liberate us here on this Earth with equity for all. But they don’t get that Jesus loved the sinner, the sick, the poor and the downtrodden, but his sermon on the mount and him saying “the poor will always be with us” indicate that charity is great as a show of the Holy Spirit towards our fellow man, but his message was one of Repentance in the sight of God, forgiveness of our enemies and worship of his Father.
