"He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions." Sound familiar? Our fed is importing invaders, many of whom are known culturally for raping and killing women and children. Also of great note in many other Grievances is the governing bodies distance from the colonies, which I feel is relevant to the Fed and the States and even moreso to the counties. Why the fuck does DC get to dictate terms to our local governments??

Yeah, this is something NO ONE wants to discuss in polite company, but back then indians really were ISIS tier savages when it came to warfare. They had practiced for centuries war of complete annihilation. Rival tribes would be completely slaughtered, with the only ones spared being the very young who would be adopted into the conquering tribe and raised as one of them.

This is why just unleashing and directing them attack European settlements was considered unjust evil warfare.

edit: If anyone is looking for a good book, check out Empire of the Summer Moon. All about the Comanches and their empire. Really great insight into them and how they functioned as a political nation and destroys the disney-avatar noble savage myth.

Just one of many. Much worse in Central and South America, where it wasn't just raids, but synchronized, systematic slaughter in relays. Sometime before Cortez, the Aztecs slaughtered 12,000 captives in a day, surpassing any Camp or Gulag in the 20th Century, using stone tools only.

Yep. Cortez and his men actually got their asses kicked the first time they fought the Aztec one and one. They only survived because they retreated and rival peoples who were being beaten up on for years by the Aztec gave Cortez refuge and then joined in a giant military coalition to go and crush them once and for all.

history of the Americas is so great, I wish it was taught more thoroughly in schools.

Look up where the "smallpox blankets" actually came from. They sacked a field hospital and scalped diseased patients, spreading the disease.
