Is it the cities that attracts leftists or do cities make people more leftist?

My theory is a convenience-based fundamental ideology leads people down the path of least resistance, which lead by ideologues that also have this mentality drives the decisions of masses like "sheep". Example, I was with a friend's family and they arbitrarily toasted to biden being "president" and how Az went "blue". They did this out of nowhere and I'm sure they couldn't tell me why they were enthused by this. I feel I failed them because rather than make them think by asking questions I left out of rage, I just didn't want to be around them.

Cities no longer have anyone productive. Finance produces nothing. Freeloaders and the urban poor are either employed in the service economy propping it up or produce nothing in the case of the former. The culture is so degraded that they cannot claim to produce that anymore. But they offer the ability to have the fast life, nice apartment, prestigious (but one that doesn’t add any value to society) job. Ideally, some blue collar folks would (factory workers, industries, etc) would be located in cities too, which is how it used to be. NYC used to ba a working and middle class city until the 70’s. Once you take the productive ones out, you get what you have now. Parasites at both ends of the socio-economic ladder.

Cities attract youth, degenerates, and college indoctrinated people, all of whom are overwhelmingly left-wing. Rural areas attract blue-collar workers, older folks, and people seeking a quiet, crime-free area to raise a family. All of those groups are overwhelmingly conservative. I don't think those areas make people more leftist, I just think they are attracted to highly social environments due to their inherently collectivist nature. Conservatives, being more self-sufficient individualists, prefer a more isolated and quiet environment.

Both. If you surround yourself with a certain type of people, you act more like them. Only certain types of people generally like to live in big cities. Same thing with rural folks. There are always exceptions though.

I always wondered this as well but now I wonder if all the elections are just rigged to look that way.
