Huh almost like it follows the seasonal flu chart.

EDIT: Don’t take my word for it

I've been saying that for a year.

I've been shoving the historical year over year weekly influenza death stats down every throat I can.

Watching the cognitive dissonance kick in when they see the truth in the numbers but don't want to admit the whole thing was a charade is something to behold.

I do this, but get told flu cases are down cause of masking a social distancing...

5
xx9oh2OneOhxx 5 points ago +5 / -0

Don't lock anyone into the corner of defending their own egos in light of their having been suckered and looking like fools. Many people would prefer to stay wrong than admit that they were fools and suckers.

Don't involve the person that your speaking to as an inferior position.

Instead, convey the presumption that they're learn-ed .. like you (and everone else who's not an idiot), .. present a good gloss of the facts for them, and then wrap up with derision and/or appall for the people who bought into the scam.

Towards the end of the encounter this leaves the person pliable for not wanting to be 'one of those idiot people', and later, on their own, they'll adapt towards your position as if they 'knew it all along'.

Only literal brainless retards ever believed COVID was anything but an enormous psy-op and power-grab.

I love asking retards where the flu went. It's always a highly contradictory answer

33

Masks and social distancing stopped the flu bigot

18

Magically even in states without mask mandates somehow.

22
MAGACountryResident 22 points ago +22 / -0

The IT guy where I work tried using the zero flu cases as a pro mask argument and I laughed in his face. He’s also says cases are rising for Covid. So Covid cases rising while wearing masks but zero flu cases? Seems logical.

11
NimbleNavigator20202 11 points ago +11 / -0

Yep. I heard the "it's masking that's eliminating flu" answer. Fucking rock bottom IQ

9
Mcbignuts2 9 points ago +9 / -0

Lol masks and lockdown can't do jack shit to stop surging covid cases, but they really work well to stop the flu

Nevermind how it basically mirrors flu season on the graphs

12
Pepesforfreedom 12 points ago +12 / -0

I get completely blown off when I bring it up. Absolutely not one person has attempted to even make anything up to answer me

10
MAGACountryResident 10 points ago +10 / -0

People don’t want to even talk about it. They look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them it’s fake.

5
Jeffersonian_Man 5 points ago +5 / -0

Now a lot of people are too attached to the idea it's real. They would feel dumb for doing this for a year for no reason. Subconsciously their mind fights anything that would change that idea.

3
booblitchutz 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was talking to a co-worker from Canada. She was legitimately panicked that she and her husband may have been exposed to covid, they’re both young and healthy.

I told her that I had it and it was just a mild flu and her reaction was like she had never heard this before. Seriously she deeply believed that getting covid was basically a death sentence. After talking to me for 5 minutes she said she was very relieved. She had never spoken to someone that had covid before.

23
NullifyAndSecede 23 points ago +23 / -0

Even if the tests were accurate..,,

Even if the virus was as deadly as the plague and as contagious as laughter...

The government has no right to decide what risks a free people ought to be able to subject themselves to.

People always have a right to take their own precautions based on an evaluation of risk but not to force those changes on others.

I was masking up and staying inside when I saw folks collapsing in Wuhan before and as the government told us they didn’t do any good because it made sense in the face of so many unknowns.

But as the picture became clearer it became obvious that such precautions were unnecessary while the government started mandating these liberty killing measures and lockdowns.

My body my choice. The root of morality lies in consent.

7
603win 7 points ago +7 / -0

I love when people typo that to “PRC test”, which is far more appropriate for the Chyna virus

Hello from Houston. 99% of people are still wearing the masks inside shops. I don't and have no problem. Some morons are still driving alone with their masks on and the complete Medical Center is in state of paranoia and their staff members are walking around with masks and gloves, from their buildings to their fcuking garage

6
Libertynfreedom4ever 6 points ago +6 / -0

But can stores refuse you service? If so then that’s the same as a mandate.

5
PopMaca 5 points ago +5 / -0

Maybe, but they never tried. I just walk in, and don't care. Don't look at people, not waiting, not explaining. Just doing my business

3
dart832 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was at REI in Dallas this last weekend, maskless, and needed help in the bike section. An employee walked up and asked if we had masks and we all said no. He stood his distance and continued to awkwardly help us. He went to look in the back for what we needed then suddenly the manager walks up to us. He was all super chipper and told us while we aren’t required to wear masks by law, the employees have the right to refuse to help customers who refuse to wear a mask. We told him we’d already been helped and he repeated himself again, reiterating how employees have the right to refuse service. Again, we told him thank you and that we had already been helped. It was just a very awkward experience.

Yet, I walk in Home Depot and the grocery store in my suburb and it feels somewhat normal. Home Depot especially. Masks to no mask was about 50:50 ratio.

1
sentient-potato 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm in Dallas, hello fren!

Check out Panevino off the DNT and Belt Line, no masks and delicious, reasonable food: https://www.panevinoosteria.com/

I've decided this is one of the few things we can all do...support the businesses that behave reasonably and be very vocal about where they are.

1
LibertarianXian 1 point ago +1 / -0

Thanks - yeah let's start a pastebin or something and get a list going starting with the D-FW area? If it grows we can do something more serious. Every time I want to go buy something I have to do that drill finding a place that doesn't require masks or wondering if I really need something so badly to don one.

I ride bikes casually which tends to be perceived as more "lefty" and I got reamed at a local Trek shop for a lvl 1 tuneup + new chain. I walked in the shop and the guy says "do you have a mask" and I was like, dammit I really need a new chain etc. and put one on. But I think he remembered that, and I was wearing my 5.11 hat too so I could just hear him thinking some faggy liberal shit in his head. Total prissy snot. Come back in and some chick with blue hair and hairy arms closes me out... just completely crap service and overpriced work.

So I found a local place in Denton that is way more chill (no mask) and cheaper. Problem solved.

1
mytendersack 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm in the Chicago burbs. You will not be serviced/allowed to purchase without a mask. Been like that for awhile.

My wife and I visited the Knoxville area a week ago and went into a walmart...

50/50 mask no mask with no one batting an eye either way. It was surreal.

2
DonJr24 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yes, places of business can. King Abbott traded a statewide mandate for a business mandate.

1
sentient-potato 1 point ago +1 / -0

If we're all smart about this and patronize zero places which require masks while spending all our money on those that don't, we'll be sending a strong message.

1
OrangePill 1 point ago +1 / -0

They can, though I think a lot of them won't bother if you go in without.

Which is also a reason that a mandate was never needed except to trying to pander to scared liberals who might make noise if you don't.

1
sentient-potato 1 point ago +1 / -0

Private companies can do whatever they want.

1
Libertynfreedom4ever 1 point ago +1 / -0

So they can discriminate indiscriminately? Same thing as your rights being trampled

5
Oldschooltexan 5 points ago +5 / -0

Depends on where you are - the Conservative areas do not wear masks - most restaurants don't have the mask sign and those that do, it is ignored - most places are open 100% occupancy. The Waters / staff wear masks, but that's it.

I'd say that wherever the voting map is blue, people are still blindly wearing their masks.

3
invalid_data 3 points ago +4 / -1

Amazing how many "conservative" ducks are in Texas, talk big game, and are still scared to take of their damn mask when out shopping or doing whatever. Texans, this is as easy of civil disobedience as it gets, who cares if the stores has a face muzzle policy. Walk in and take back your freedom. Literally nothing will happen.

Yep, ordinary flu.

1
sentient-potato 1 point ago +1 / -0

Except the flu is influenza and Covid is a coronavirus.

Look, it's all being manipulated and overblown, but these types of statements aren't factual. If we're going to show they're lying by using facts, we can't just go making up facts.

2
booblitchutz 2 points ago +2 / -0

"The Flu" technically refers to Influenza virus infections, sure. When someone says they have "the flu" they are referring to fever and upper respiratory symptoms, which is often caused by a coronavirus infection, even before covid-19. Technically what they have is "a cold" caused by coronavirus, but rhinovirus "colds" and coronavirus "colds" are are different.

It's not unusual to have flu like symptoms from a coronavirus "cold". What most people do is call a fever a flu and no fever a cold. But a cold from coronavirus often causes fever.

So my point to YOU is what is going around is an "ordinary flu", in colloquial terms. Most people don't go and get a laboratory test to determine exactly what they have, because it's minor. And I would most definitely call my symptoms from covid "minor".

So maybe you should relax your "ackshuallys"?

1
sentient-potato 1 point ago +1 / -0

There's no need to be rude, and I disagree.

5
leakmouth 5 points ago +5 / -0

“Correlation is still not causation. This is not to argue masks do or don’t work, but rather it’s to reiterate that mask tyrants and politicians drunk on emergency powers do not care about science or data, or even flat curves and ICU beds. Their arguments are based on fear and control.”

3

Masks is just the government signaling they're doing something about covid not because of it's use but because of that impression. When there was mask shortages people followed the social distancing and the washing your hand constantly rules (I prefer the keep your hands to yourself over the frequently wash your hands). So what do we get after "masks" have been pushed as the key to lowering the curve, 4-5 people standing in circles yelling at each face to face. People touching everything again like children. The idiots who act like masks make them invincible is the reason the curve was never flattened, the person without a mask is most likely more conscientious of all of these facts than the masked npc

3
DemonkkkRatSlavers 3 points ago +3 / -0

Don't worry, Democrats will be releasing COVID positive illegals to invade Texas and combat this.

2
OrangePill 2 points ago +2 / -0

They're running out of methods to artificially prop up the stock market and economy with the passing of the final "stimulus".

They also couldn't do it to sooner or it would look totally unnatural, but things are at the point that even a minor economic crisis could severely topple the house of cards, and few tools are left to alleviate another downturn with interest rates at such low levels.

That and all the people that went to get tested everytime they stepped outside are now furiously obsessing over getting a vaccine, they want whatever talisman is available to go back to "normal".

I wouldn't be surprised if we see the CDC come out in the next few months backtracking everything at the direction of the Fed and Biden's handlers.

As of last Tuesday, Texas had administered more than 9.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. More than 6 million people have received at least one dose, and more than 3 million have been fully vaccinated, according to state health officials.

Texas population is 29 million. Add vaccinations to number of recovered COVID cases and you nearly have herd immunity.
