The poor thing is starving. Quick, it needs free welfare and healthcare. Give it a free house. I don't care if you kick out an American citizen. It's a wahmen! And she is oppressed!

NullifyAndSecede 68 points ago +70 / -2

If she has her heart attack on American soil the nearest emergency room will be legally compelled to provide services to her AND be subject to potential malpractice suits if they fuck up.

And then we wonder why healthcare is so expensive.

20
Zhongda 20 points ago +22 / -2

And you know damn certain no matter what we have a racial suit in the making just by one visit.

Any way to get ahead in life. The *"legal" way.

*Terms and conditions apply, not available to American citizens or those with white skin tone unless equipped with standard blue or pink fucked up haircut

NullifyAndSecede 13 points ago +14 / -1

Also in its infinite wisdom, government enforced a monopolistic cartel of doctors who may practice reducing supply of an essential service.

It’s fuckery and graft all the way down.

fuckery and graft

I'm not used to you understating things.....

Who wrote the ACA? The exact same people whose stock prices have done quite well since it was passed.

The preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy

― Martin Gilens https://scholar.princeton.edu/sites/default/files/mgilens/files/gilens_and_page_2014_-testing_theories_of_american_politics.doc.pdf

War_Hamster 3 points ago +3 / -0

I'm familiar.

Do you think the conclusions will have changed at all based on the past 7 years since publication?

I suggest not, but the statistics would probably lead to a much lower degree of confidence.

And it's entirely possible that the recent polarization has increased the level of certainty.

The social sciences are going to have a difficult time quantifying the current time period.

4
NullifyAndSecede 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don't think it's changed much. I do wonder if Trump's administration would show up as a blip on such a graph though.

I love that study as it is empirical proof of the failure of "American Democracy" to achieve its stated aims (never mind that such aims are themselves immoral)

On a similar theme I've been reading "The Myth of the Rational Voter" by Bryan Caplan which provides a coherent explanation for why democratic government is so terrible in practice.

Being able to sue a doctor for malpractice when the doctor and patient enter into a contractual agreement is all well and good.

Forcing the doctor to provide free services while also making them subject to crippling lawsuits (and thus needing expensive insurance) is not.

You're close to an argument I could agree with, but not quite there yet.

Articulate it a bit differently, please.

You're hinting at the actual causes of the problems, but specificity is lacking.

2
DickTick 2 points ago +3 / -1

And why are they supposed to articulate they're own personal opinion differently just to please you? Because that sounds retarded......

Still a human being. We can eliminate the harm she potentially causes without killing her.

Save your ammo for the real invaders (they reside in a certain swamp).

4

2
DickTick 2 points ago +2 / -0

But you're at their fucking border so why the fuck wouldn't it be their doctors taking care of her? Worst case scenario is that you send Mexico a bill for any health care we have to provide to their citizens and put them under sanctions if they don't pay it.....

That is retarded and makes no fucking sense. No foreigner is entitled to healthcare in the US, especially not when you're a fucking foreign invader illegally crossing the border, but still at your own border - in your own country - with it's own doctors.....

I can't even afford health insurance and haven't been able to afford health insurance since the very moment that a Barack Obama started his bullshit Obamacare. The really crazy part is that I make pretty damn good money, but that's the issue - I make good enough money that Obamacare wants to charge me several thousand dollars a month for a single person, but I make way too much to get any other type of health care and my job doesn't offer it because that is simply the norm in my field.....

So this fucking fat foreign invader that is here illegally, and caused herself to be fat and unhealthy, deserves to get free health care when an American citizen like myself can't? And i can't even afford insurance OR afford to get sick?..... but we have no problem potentially spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep this fat whore alive......

2
deleted 2 points ago +2 / -0
2
DickTick 2 points ago +2 / -0

More like people like myself who make way too much money to get any kind of free health care, but my field doesn't offer insurance which is completely normal in this field and yet I can't afford health insurance and haven't been able to afford health insurance since Obamacare started.... Every single time my wife has looked on their website to try to find me a plan, which we have done many many times over the years, they never want less than $1,500 a month and very often the prices will be above $2,000 a month for just me and I am a 34-year-old healthy male, with no pre-existing conditions, that doesn't smoke.....

So call me crazy, but no, I don't think it's fucking right that my tax dollars have to pay for health care for these fucking foreigners illegally invading our border when I haven't been able to afford health insurance OR afford to get sick in a decade more.....

God only knows what might be going on with me under the surface because I quite literally haven't had labs or a checkup done in over a decade because I simply can't afford to fix whatever they might find, so I'd rather not even know.... Even though about 35% of my immediate family members, including grandparents and aunts and uncles, have died from various types of cancer just in my lifetime..... up to and including my only sibling older brother when he was 15 and I was 9.....

RationalThought 2 points ago +3 / -1

So, where do you draw the line? You will pay for this illegals heart attack* because you are, as you say, not an animal. This mentality is why were are in this mess in the first place. You are willing to sacrifice OUR money on some twisted principle that if this woman were to come here illegally, we should pay for her health before we ship her back. Would this heart attack of happened in her own country, or is this a direct result of traveling here? If you think it is the latter, (which it seems to me you implied) YOU need to seek her out and start saving your money.

1
War_Hamster 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think he's actually saying don't blame (and kill) the victim, but rather address why she thought it was a good idea to come here illegally in the first place.

The people who made the policies are the problem, not this pleasantly plump woman who is entirely rational for wanting to come here under the current circumstances.

2
RationalThought 2 points ago +2 / -0

I understand what you are saying, I do not blame them either. I still do not wish to pay for their medical before they get shipped back, it just gives one more incentive.

1
War_Hamster 1 point ago +1 / -0

When my Sis was in med school and doing her residency 20+ years ago in SoCal, she would tell me about how many illegals used the ER as their personal physician. It was a big dilemma then, that has not been solved. I suspect there are more financial incentives for the hospitals now, but it's ridiculous that this has been going on for so long.

Doc Sis is now a bleeding heart Leftist, and would deny she ever had a problem with freeloaders back then, but the conversations damn well happened.

In other words, now that she's here, it's not a simple decision on whether to provide aid or not, even if we leave out all of the other complicating factors.

What if she comes here legally on vacation and needs medical attention she can't afford? It's not as simple as it should be.

Let's just agree that she shouldn't come in the first place.

What’s that you say? Products where the government enforces a monopoly of production AND regulates their distribution are expensive?

Color me shocked.

4
iDinduNuffin 4 points ago +4 / -0

Oh, is that why it's twice as expensive in the US than it is in Canada or Europe or pretty much any other country in the world?

Nothing to do with our pharma companies being allowed to have a stranglehold on politicians on the basis of being "private enterprises", giving them free reign to hyperinflate their domestic prices while selling for pennies abroad to suppress foreign pharma industries?

3
NullifyAndSecede 3 points ago +3 / -0

giving them free reign to hyperinflate their domestic prices while selling for pennies abroad to suppress foreign pharma industries?

This only works with government monopoly protections. Blocking competitors (through bullshit IP laws) blocking imports (in the name of safety of course) and all other sorts of fuckery.

The power government has over the economy is precisely why lobbying is such a ridiculously profitable endeavor and it will continue to be until we restore the power of government to a minimal state or eliminate it entirely.

https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2009/06/lobbying-is-a-lucrative-invest/

2
Only_One_Box_Left 2 points ago +2 / -0

This ALL goes back to the Fed.

That's when America truly died.

1
iDinduNuffin 1 point ago +1 / -0

Then why is it only happening in one of the least-restricted markets on the planet?

The ability for companies to hide under the shield of private enterprise and deflect any public accountability is precisely why they can leverage and expand the power of the government in the first place; by filling it with bought politicians beholden to lobbyists and other private interest groups.

And that's what the government will continue to be until we bring those private actors to heel and make them beholden to the law of our nation.

1
1
iDinduNuffin 1 point ago +1 / -0

It doesn't matter, the majority of other countries have far more restrictions, if not outright socialized medicine, and yet prices are higher in the US than anywhere else. By far. The go-to regulations answer doesn't explain this.

But feel free to name the countries with a freer private market than ours, I'm kinda interested.

1
NullifyAndSecede 1 point ago +1 / -0

First: it is possible for a country to have a socialized health system while still allowing market healthcare. This is not me attempting to defend socialized medicine, just stating a fact of how some countries operate. It is also possible to outright ban private insurance etc... and some like Sanders have stupidly advocated for this.

A good example of market healthcare in countries with socialized medicine is Rand Paul traveling to Canada for procedures. The left tried to latch on to this to brand him as a hypocrite but he was not participating in the socialized system but rather engaging in the market side of healthcare in Canada:

https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/425428-media-fails-spectacularly-on-gotcha-attempt-over-rand-paul-surgery-in-canada

https://fee.org/articles/media-fail-marvelously-in-mocking-rand-paul-for-surgery-in-canada-land-of-universal-health-care/

Medical Tourism of this kind is a growing trend to create a competitive market for healthcare:

https://fee.org/articles/patients-without-borders-the-rise-of-medical-tourism/

The core of the drug pricing problem has to do with IP law though, which is a totally artificial construction of government policy. You might argue that it incentivizes drug development, but it is quite literally a government enforced monopoly on essential products and a means to prevent competition.

What you're failing to see here is an inspiring coming of age tale, one of courage, sacrifice, and determination.

When Big Rosa began this journey from Guatemala, she was four times this size and confined to a gurney. She and her 3 cucked husbands made the hard decision that a life living on just twinkies is no life at all, and that a better life awaits them in America. There they can live off twinkies AND fried chicken, subsidized by the kindness of American taxpayers.

In a team effort, the 3 cucks helped push Big Rosa across the desert. Shortly into the journey, one by one they fell.

Salvador died of exhaustion 1/4 mile into the trip. His weak legs and noodle arms gave all it could, including the ultimate sacrifice.

Miguel succumbed to his injuries and died after the gurney lost control while being pushed up a hill. It rolled back downhill and Miguel couldnt get out of the way in time. Poor Miguel. Death by gurney is no way to go.

At just 3/4 of a mile into their 1500 mile journey, Antonio began to reevaluate the ever evolving situation. Knowing that it is now solely up to him to push Big Rosa across this unforgiving terrain, he started to realize the impossibility of this task. The fact that he spent an hour and a half trying, with no success, to get over a small rock cemented this realization. At that point he said, "A la mierda con esto. Me voy." which translates to "fuck this shit. im out."

While laying there alone on a gurney just outside town, in a moment of clarity, Big Rosa realized that her destiny is in her own hands. With an intense spark of courage, she rolled off her gurney.......and kept rolling and rolling and rolling. Over sand, she rolled. Over dunes, she rolled. Over rocks, she rolled. Over mountains, she rolled. She rolled under the sun. She rolled under the crescent and the full moon. She rolled to the howl of the coyotes.

But the rolling eventually stopped. 1000 miles later, she could roll no more. Thats because she didnt need to. Like a butterfly, she has evolved into a higher form. She had then lost enough weight that she could walk. With new reinvigorated vigor, her legs also gave her vision. A vision that she will succeed in finishing her journey.

What we see in this pic is her walking for the past 300 miles. Dont be mistaken, this story is far from over. Once she reaches stateside, she will undoubtedly have evolved again, surely into an even purer, more inspiring, more beautiful form. Think Salma Hayek in her prime.

One day books will be written about Big Rosa, movies, television series, etc. Her tale will become legend.
