The core disagreement at the founding of America was this:
-Both sides agreed that the government would eventually become corrupt and need to be thwarted by The People.
-One side felt that local government is easier for evil to infiltrate, and therefore a strong central (federal) government that would oversee local governments was in The People's best interest.
-The other [more based] side argued that they had just finished fighting an 8-year war against a strong centralized government, and it made no sense to turn around and create a new one. They felt that local government would always best serve the interests of The People, and if they were ever corrupted they would be easier for The People to overthrow than a corrupt centralized government. (Also, a coalition of patriot local governments would protect The People against a corrupt centralized government.)
The focus on language and labels is merely a distraction from this core debate. Once the Democrats lost the Civil War, they focused on changing the narrative to that of virtue, creating a movement they called "Progressivism," which claimed to fight for the little guy but was in reality funded and backed by the children of the plantation owners of the old south and city bosses of the north.
It’s called “clapter”. It’s the lifeblood of woke comedy. You must clap at the narrative lines and belch a laugh sounding noise or be found guilty of being a racist by the people seated around you.
The lack of live audiences for these woke shows is highlighting how pervasive this truly was.
This guy is completely right. None of these late night idiots are even trying to be funny anymore. Every joke is "haha, look at people I disagree with." I mourn Stephen Colbert the most. The Colbert Report was legit funny. His CBS show is nonstop cringe.
It sucks too as he took over for letterman, one of the funniest late night guys ever. Like imagine telling someone 20 years ago that you'd go from one of the greatest comedians of his generation to a guy who couldn't make a room full of jewish people cheer if he was literally setting hitler on fire.
There is so much comedic gold being squandered right now. No group in American history is more vulnerable to satire than the modern American left. They're walking jokes.
He's right. Liberal comedy isn't funny. It's just comedians trying to one-up each other to proclaim how liberal they are.
and people don't really laugh, they just cheer and support
“Liberal Klan meeting” is redundant, since the Klan has always been a Democrat institution.
Maybe. I'm not convinced the DNC being the 'liberal' party isn't itself a lie.

so just a regular klan meeting then, got it!

I stopped watching so effing long ago, but I imagine every other joke is still "haha trump is bad"

So basically the same as Letterman then?
I actually always thought he sucked and was a douche.
well his character was a douche, thats what was funny... but then he stopped doing the character and it turns out he's just a douche
I just realized... his normal personality is pretty much the same as his comedy central character, but liberal
This was the last segment that I found funny by Colbert.

I think it's still funny, but has a hint of malice now that I know more about Colbert
What a perfect way of putting it.
Yes, it's called clapter and it's exactly what seals do when they want another mackerel.
Dang man, I didn't expect anything good from this guy
Based Deuce Bigelow!
But you repeat yourself, sir.
Saw Rob’s stand-up show live a couple years ago. Dude is indeed based AF.
I saw him live in nashville recently. He spent the entire set ragging on democrats and complaining about the fake pandemic shit. Was fucking awesome.
Pretty sure dems helped found the klan.

I’ve always wondered if we could organize a mass meetup to attend a live taping of one of these shows and boo all of the woke jokes?
I wonder what would happen...
Leebeeralnista comedianatoristas!! Alriiiiight!! Making copies of each otherrrrrrr!
Everyone should watch Big Stan who hasn't seen it. This guys great.
I'll always associate him with deuce bigalo lol. but yeah, he's cool. never seemed to have fallen into the hollywood degeneracy.
I always think of him in surf ninjas. So funny 😂
Cheering on the rhetoric... wow. Such a simple explanation, makes you wonder why you didn't see it yourself.
Noticed this 15 years ago. Stopped watching. It even has a cadence to it.
He sure is. Cut his fucking head off!
KO
Tim Allen said that if your audience is clapping and not laughing, then it isn't comedy
What was the point of getting so close to the finish line only to stumble at the last second with a gay virtue signal.
Well done, you let everyone know that whatever you might say about our circumstances, the left still own your mind.
This reminds me of an old post on Reddit about the social engineering/manipulation by late night "comedy", including John Oliver: https://www.reddit.com/r/SocialEngineering/comments/5tvqwa/hbos_last_week_tonight_with_john_oliver/
Even the first few years with the classic cast were bad more often than good.
Boycott snl Kimmel Colbert Fallon Corbin
Rob and James Woods, 2 of the few actors left who I respect. Oh, and Ryan Reynolds 👌🏻
"Liberal Klan"...
So just regular klan then?
