If he's a patriot, he'd just say this.

"America is the country of the Wright brothers, private entrepreneurs with no government backing. They did have the courage to take risks and the freedom to try, and they didn't quit when things went wrong.

No great endeavor is risk free. Americans get up and keep going. We will learn, innovate and reach for the stars with more determination than before, because that's what Americans do."
