I was gonna say who here still watches tv?

Apersonofinterest [S] 9 points ago +9 / -0

Traveling. This is what they present to travelers.

PineapplePenis 6 points ago +6 / -0

Ah, ok. Yea last time I took a trip I did the same. Clicked around the late night "comedy" shows thinking "do liberals find this amusing, cuz this is fucking garbage!"

Didn't stick around long enough to notice the commercials.

Apersonofinterest [S] 6 points ago +6 / -0

I don’t have cable so this is new to me. It seems the MSM news are broadcasting 24/7 peopaganga.

6
Dialectic 6 points ago +6 / -0

Traveling? Get an iPad, small laptop, Nintendo switch, book, anything else to entertain yourself.

When I visit my parents who still watch cable tv and I happen to see it on it’s physically painful. It’s nothing but psychological torture. Turn it the fuck off

MAGAconvert 6 points ago +6 / -0

I watch tv, just without the commercials. Without paying for it either.

Dear Sir or Madam, please cut the cord. Let them know why when you do. We are the workers, the tax payers and people who pay them. The longer you do for convenience, they more money you give them to make and spread this propaganda. It’s time.

Just stop consuming TV altogether and spend less time on the Internet or on your phone.

What the fuck is there to watch? What culture to bring us insight into the human condition? What escapism deep enough to remotely distract from the unfolding decadence about us?

China sells book copies of 1984 within its own country because they expect that its own citizens will be too distracted with their smartphones and TVs to ever read a novel that lays out the dystopia they reside in.

If you do want to recreate with some meaningful fiction, read this short webcomic: https://www.hummingfluff.com/lovelypeoplecomic.html It will have way more meaningful commentary on our current situation than anything coming out of the telecoms.

From the author:

I'd been an atheist for nearly 15 years. A little over a year ago I started feeling a pull to belive in God, Jesus, and I hestitantly started calling myself a Christian. But really I wasn't, I didn't even know what Christians believe. I would pray for good things to happen to me and my family, and for peace of mind, success in my career. I read one of the gospels and didn't understand much. I never admitted my sinfullness. Life was good, my career was going well, lots of things to plan for and look forward to in the future.

But as so many other last year (2020), I was jolted out of my comfort. And through many turns God, by his providence, allowed me to undertand something of how truly sinful my nature is, and how little I deserve mercy. How no amount of doing good could ever make me righteous enough to deserve being in God's presence. I'm exceedingly prideful, self-righteous, greedy, covetous. There's so much spite and envy in my heart. So much love for myself and so little for God, even if I tried to excuse myself and pretend otherwise. And most of my life I'd belittled God and sneered at biblical Christianity, while elevating myself as more enlightened and wise as a progressivism-minded Atheist. Yet despite all this God granted me the gift of belief in His existance, and then, in late autumn of 2020, repentance and forgiveness throught his son Jesus Christ. I have nothing to fear.

Funnily enough, a leftist trying to paint it as "bizarre Christian propaganda" effectively advertised its existence to me. What's more surprising was that I was already aware of the author's existing work for several years, so I didn't expect to see her name.

And yeah, she took the risk of pissing off her fanbase, so I have mad respect for her for releasing it.

Friendly_B 2 points ago +2 / -0

Thanks for sharing it. Is she published by any of the indie publishers? Or have a web store?

3
julianReyes 3 points ago +3 / -0

Her work is part of the webcomics conglomerate The Hiveworks, which, mind you, does have some tumblr-y comics in its catalog. But if you want to support Minna Sandberg specifically she already has her own store dedicated to her current work Stand Still, Stay Silent at https://hivemill.com/collections/stand-still-stay-silent

Main website of her current comic: https://sssscomic.com

Her portfolio: https://www.minnasundberg.fi/index.php

Dev blog on her in-progress game "City of Hunger," which also hosted the webcomic you read: https://www.hummingfluff.com/

I'll also like to add another creator who endorsed this comic, Brian Niemeier: https://www.brianniemeier.com/2021/03/lovely-people.html

This gives me hope for the future.

4
Apersonofinterest [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

I cut that cord decades ago. I’m staying in a hotel and this is the rot that they have on the TV.

3
OGpsywar 3 points ago +3 / -0

If you can't monitor their propaganda output, how can you know all who to boycott .. and feel reallllly surly towards if anything ever got rolling?

3
Apersonofinterest [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

My boycott list is simple.

I don’t spend money. I save money.

7
CrackerSmurf2 7 points ago +7 / -0

don't watch tv. I quit YEars ago.

5
Boudicca2 5 points ago +5 / -0

I don't watch TV, because doing so enriches those who want to destroy me and my country.

3
ramennov 3 points ago +3 / -0

Haven’t watched TV in years. What are some examples that you saw?

3
Apersonofinterest [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

All of them. Every fucking commercial. I would just like to buy some toilet paper. Well.::not so fast bigot!!!

2
ramennov 2 points ago +2 / -0

I mean, what are they showing in the commercials that relates to BLM or critical race theory?

2
horsefacestorm 2 points ago +2 / -0

In my admittedly non-scientific analysis, actors are selected from a certain 13% of the overall population to be showcased in roughly 75% of all commercials. And they are always portrayed as the "cool" characters when actors representing the other 87% of the population are also presented.

1
Nopa 1 point ago +1 / -0

Hispanics are never presented as the cool characters?

1
horsefacestorm 1 point ago +1 / -0

Not that I've noticed. Brainwashing must not be strong enough...

3
Forty_Five 3 points ago +3 / -0

I haven't watched a commercial in years.

3
Matthewferguson19 3 points ago +3 / -0

What are these commercials of which you speak.

2
Joujigun 2 points ago +2 / -0

America is NOT a racist country. Go to Mexico and they hate blacks with a passion.

2
DiabolyAlcoholy 2 points ago +2 / -0

I'm not white and I'm sick of it. Growing up I've rarely identified myself by my skin colour. I did in highschool but then felt stupid trying to fit in with people that look like me instead of hanging out with my friends and just playing soccer.

But now? I can't help but always question if anything is legit, or affirmative action. And it's sad

2
Danmax67 2 points ago +2 / -0

I find it informative. I learn what companies not to do business with.

2
Vox_Dobad 2 points ago +2 / -0

Cut the cord

2
FusionRealm 2 points ago +2 / -0

Be bold. Cut the cord. I did that 4 years ago and it's been great. Dumped Facebook 2.5 years ago. Although tv time is now Paw patrol and leap from on reruns

2
Apersonofinterest [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I haven’t paid for internet since internet was a thing. I also used to steal cable back in the day with black boxes and whatnot.

2
FusionRealm 2 points ago +2 / -0

I remember those!!! My grandmother had one. We'd sneak over there and watch the spice channel all the time. She'd also let us watch all the WWF pay preview events. I remember my frsit wrestle mania......

cajun_robear 1 point ago +1 / -0

Every commercial made promotes leftist bullshit in one form or the other. TURN OFF THE TV AND ENJOY EACH DAY GOD HAS GIVEN YOU. Also, give the left some shit back everyday.

1
Dialectic 1 point ago +1 / -0

Bro I haven’t watched cable in 20 fucking years. Get rid of that awful shit. There has to be other things you can find to entertain yourself.

YouTube, rumble, bitchute, old movies and tv shows when that stuff was less commie. Video games. Working out. Building models. Reading. Shooting. Hiking. Fishing. Picking your nose.

Fucking anything besides watching cable tv

1
Do_the_Math 1 point ago +1 / -0

Get rid of cable.

1
Donarudo_Taranpu 1 point ago +1 / -0

So cancel your fucking cable you nimrod, you're paying for that shit.

1
Apersonofinterest [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I only have 1 recurring payment besides Rent and that’s my insurance for my bike. Also my cel phone. I don’t pay for cable!

2
Donarudo_Taranpu 2 points ago +2 / -0

Sorry man. I assumed when I shouldn't have.

1
ShitOfPeace 1 point ago +1 / -0

I'm sick of the "new normal" nonsense and mask wearing in commercials

1
julianReyes 1 point ago +1 / -0

You should have been tired of it a looong time ago.

Could not help but wince when I would see soyface ads and marketing on vehicles everywhere three years ago.

4
Apersonofinterest [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

I don’t have TV anymore. Currently traveling and seeing the TV shows they broadcast to the normies and its gross!

Streaming and YT count as TV too.

Apersonofinterest [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think it’s pretty clear, regular TV has been nuked!! Hardly anyone believes them anymore. Look at Creepy Joe’s RATIOS:

Yes, it's ridiculously transparent and ridiculous. BTW if what they show in those commercials is a realistic depiction of the lives of blacks, then there is no systemic racism. Because apparently they're all architects, live in ultra-modern houses, drive late-model Volvos, and eat nothing but organic fruits and vegetables.
