An employee at a major bank in Florida was so grateful we passed 15 an hour min. She makes roughly 19 an hour and her son works in retail. She said how pleased she was that they would earn more money. I stated "how we going to make more money"? She went on to explain her 20 years of service is worth a lot more than min wage. I responded the 15 an hour is like food stamps, designed to help the poorest among us. She than asked the manager when they raise the min wage 1.5 will she get more money. To which she was told no, just the annual raise if available. It was at that moment she understood. Telling me if she could work at the zoo for 15 an hour why would she work in a high stress office. To which I responded "you wouldn't". In hind sight I should have said those making 100k would prolly get raises.

I have a well, septic, and the only thing I'm missing is self provided power. The house I live in was built close to 20 years ago so I've been putting that off since I'll likely need to replace the roof soon. I wake up to deer most of the spring and fall so I have that too. With an acre I think I can support the two of us since we have preservation skills, guns, ammo, and such. Plus surrounded by people that also have guns and are largely blue collar trade types. I grew up in that too so I know all sorts of things from small engine repair to electronics repair.
We have a small tight knit community that can survive this shit. As long as we have enough bullets to deal with the barbarians but some of us reload so that can last a while.
The more remote plan involves me probably doing some construction and minimalist crap but my wife thought it might be a good idea. We could spend time in more liberty based areas without an anchor to a place that can strip our liberties. Does restrict self sufficiency in some ways as there is very little ways to grow a substantial crop in that situation.
Plus we live near the amish so we always will have a moderate food source as they will give no fucks on what the commies do.
