I really do not get how requiring photo ID = racism. IDs are required for just about everything in functioning society. If anything, it works against homeless people. Not black people.

The idea is you are supposed to assume that any attempt to hold people accountable at the polls is an intent to suppress the "black vote".

The sad part is that it works. Many in the conservative side are heavily taught the golden rule, and that's partially why they run for cover every time the name-calling comes out. Nobody wants to be seen as "mean" or judgemental. But the left is not playing by the same rules.
I think to a point it is getting better, but we have a long way to go.

Non-citizens can carry a drivers license and they get ballots mailed to their homes. Had an Italian neighbour who was voting for 7 years before he was a Canadian citizen.
Had no idea until the citizenship ceremony where they congratulated him on now being able to vote. He had been voting the entire time. Didn’t question it because the voter registration came in the mail every time.
TL;DR there’s no claims of racism because there’s loopholes.

The federal government is required by law to provide you with a federal ID if you cannot afford one. It's literally free. These people are lazy cheating fucks.
My vote was suppressed in the 2020 election when a fake president was installed. So yes, "voter suppression will never be acceptable to us" who cast our legal votes and got fucked.
Send your 10 year old black son or daughter out to buy alcohol and when they're asked for ID have the kids scream racism and demand they give the kids the alcohol.
In a couple years they'll say its perfectly reasonable that everyone must have a smartphone and id to travel, go into any business, or be caught within 6 ft of another human. Vaccine passports arent discriminatory, because a biometric/gps fun bracelet will be provided for free to those that can't afford a smartphone.
