Imagine being so vain that the only characteristic of importance is the color of your skin. Imagine having so little other than being black. Imagine being a token. Imagine celebrating tokens, characters that have nothing special outside of their race, sex, national origin, or religion.
When we admit that the color of your skin is the content of your character, then people ought to judge you on that basis, you will see a lot more racism.
The irony is that these will be the only muppets that have human flesh tones. Jim Henson purposely chose for the muppets to have a diversity of non-human "skin" colors so that every viewer would be able to identify with them.
