Yesterday Arizona governor Ducey issued an executive order ending all city county and state issued mask mandates. Of course the obvious list of naysayers, leftists, and fear mongers in the state are having emotional meltdowns. I would ask those of you disinclined to give up your facial security blanket, to consider the following:

A cloth mask is little more than a talisman, like garlic to ward off vampires, or a lucky rabbit's foot to alay superstitious fears, because it is certainly of little medical value. There is of course the obvious opportunity to virtue signal to the world at large, like wearing a large crusifix around your neck, or anything else that telegraphs your self-impressive "morality".

I don't give a rats behind if you stay home cowering in fear or you venture into the wider world racked with anxiety that, against all likelihood and evidence from this past year, someone somewhere might asymptomaticly spread what has become an endemic pathogen. You do you.

So the question is begged, when will YOU stop wearing your talisman of virtue? The virus is here to stay. Will you ever let the mask go? Certainly there are those among us who will be wearing masks for rest of their natural lives. Are you one of those individuals? Or will you wait until your peer group starts to lay them aside, peer pressure is such a potent force. Maybe you are just waiting for some elected official who is aligned with your politics, to give you permission. But do you really need any politician to give you permission to live your life as you see fit?

The benefits of wearing a mask are almost completely psychological.
