That's already illegal though so what's the point of another law, it just makes the right look bad and gives them ammo to use against us. Why not make laws on increasing the speed of lines so the Dems never have the opportunity to influence people while they are waiting hours in line? That would also decrease the amount of people who want to vote by mail.
Can be spun as inducement if the person is plastered with 'VOTE FOR XXXXXX" stuff. Put another way, it's pretty much the same thing as the "cream cheese" rule for college athletics.
Simple. It's an in for voter influence at the polls. Democrats straight-up step-up booths and food trucks and play music. They use it to have a reason to influence people waiting in line to vote. The polls should be no frills events where people can go in without being influence in the damn line. They have all the time in the world to make their decision there doesn't need to be another opportunity for people to be woo'd with water or whatever. I know, it seems stupid and innocuous but we are dealing with underhanded opportunists here.
That's illegal. Just enforce that law we don't need another one.
Long lines tend to be in Democratic areas so they are trying to keep people in line, the law seems to be to prevent the dems from doing that which is a bad look for the GOP imo.
What is the reason?
Because political activists use it as last minute campaigning, trying to buy votes, at the polling station.

That's already illegal though. You can't wear stuff like that to a polling site. So just enforce that law and you don't need a new one.
Is it even true?
Yes, I've never understood the reason this has been included.
