Central banks probably own the majority of major crypto. And who do you think Satoshi is? Just a random dude? Crypto sounds good but it's complete surveillance of money. Every single transaction traced. We should be going the other way, returning to gold and physical currency. Crypto sounds nice, and I'm invested because fuck it, but yeah, we got central bank cryptos coming soon.
"Central banks probably own the majority of major crypto."
"We should be going the other way, returning to gold and physical currency."
Excuse me while I place my face in my palms (Because central banks own the majority of gold, which was your alternative suggestion.)
This is just a Pareto distribution. There are no resources that this is not subject to, except perhaps in communist countries.
There are 4 problems with gold that bitcoin solves.
Transportation (Good luck crossing a border with it)
Storage (requires significantly more security)
Division (Not easy to divide a gold bar)
Verification (There are "gold" bars that are just tungsten wrapped in gold and you need an x ray machine to see it.
Anyways, cryptocurrency is a free market. Bitcoin isn't the only one. The important thing is to separate currency and state.
You value privacy? Buy Monero instead.
The transparency of the bitcoin network is it's greatest strength, and its greatest weakness.
But at the end of the day, you prefer gold? I'm down with gold. But the government HAS confiscated it in the past. Bitcoin is unconfiscatable if you memorize the seed words.
I know you probably think "oh I know all that" but watch that video. Shit is coming man. You make a fair point that government owns majority of the gold. But that's why I said gold or physical currency. Dude, you're shilling for complete surveillance of all transactions. I've heard of Monero but don't know what they claim. If it's a claim of complete privacy, I call bullshit. That's like saying a VPN is complete privacy. It's literally impossible with electronic payments and transactions. Just a fact.
I'm all for crypto as an investment but in my opinion it's fools gold. I was buying BTC at $100. And yes, I wish I held obviously. But it's not the answer to our problems. It's an accelerant. It's gonna be bad. And wait until (see my video link) the most accepted and used cryptos are central bank cryptos. We're gonna be in trouble. Not to mention, they include equality and social justice in their white papers. Bad news, dude, seriously.
Buy bitcoin. It's the life raft.

I know your seed words!
You skipped the part about Central banks are now distributing their own crypto.

You didn't make an argument about Monero.
