When I was discharged I got a bus ticket to the city I was recruited in. Family had moved years prior. I had no where to go so I slept on the streets while I worked in a factory for 7$/hr. I eventually made enough to buy a car for $400. It was my home until I saved enough for a down payment on an apartment. Since then I have never been out if work and built a career for myself and family. It boils my blood when I'm forced to go to diversity meetings where I'm lectures about my white privilege.
